She stands alone, the envelope with her results tucked close to her breast. Maybe if no-one asks she can just disappear – they won’t know, at least not until next year and they find she’s not there with them. How did it happen? She doesn’t know. They were all joking in class, leaving homework, dressing up for civvies days and before she knew it, she was sitting, staring at the empty lined paper challenging her to fill it with meaningful markings.
There was enough time to prepare, to plan, to practise. After all, what were the books for? Books filled with facts, formulas and fiction. Writers wanting to make you wise for life out there. Why, oh why did she not listen and learn?
The Day of the Lord will be like no other day ever, but in many ways exams and receiving reports remind me of that time of reckoning that will come at the end of the ages. It has been announced, we have been given warning of it and the books (all sixty-six of them from Genesis to Revelation) make mention of it.
The Author Himself said that His Word was written to make us wise unto salvation. Read it and you can be saved from the terrible day of the Lord. Prepare yourself for our final exam.
