Essential Grace

A baby girl, thrown out into the open field on the day she was born... One passes by and says, "Live!"
He makes her thrive like a plant in the field and when He passes by her again...she became His. He clothed her in embroidered cloth and gave her sandals; He clothed her with fine linen and covered her with silk. She became beautiful on account of Him. (Paraphrased from Ezekiel 16)

Every one of us are thrown out into the open field on the day we are born. We are all born in sin, fallen creatures who need rescuing. Many years ago the Lord Jesus saved me from my sin and gave me sandals to walk with - essential for the dust, the hills and the valleys of life - and clothed me with the finest linen and silk. All these years His Word has kept me on the road and I have been covered with His righteousness. Sandals are essential; silk is extravagant, special, undeserved and extreme. Just like grace. Free, but necessary if you want to appear before the King of Kings.

Don't let Jesus pass you by today. Call on Him to rescue you.
